"Mayamentals" is a collection of some of my favorite Maya Angeles instrumentals.

Maya Angeles, (formerly "Welcome to the Ice Age") was a hip-hop-ish group active from 2012 through 2017. We consisted of 2 producers and up to 6 vocalists, all of whom have been friends since high school.

Creating a coherent sound among so many disparate voices with clashing opinions was a challenge we struggled to overcome, and I often felt ambivalent about my involvement in the group as a result. Nevertheless, I think we had some great moments, and I'm happy I was a part of it.

Though we didn't achieve high art, we at least made an attempt to take risks and do something different, and we were able to celebrate small victories along the way. Plus I think DKE and I did a fucking awesome job on the production.
